“Bestest day EVER”

The previous 48 hours had been…..ummmmm…..not the greatest….Our time down at the hospital for the latest round of tests were not the best (an over night video eeg and a swallow study both of which stressed this mommy out)

and then….there is a day like today……..A day that for three hours, life seemed just about….well….”typical”

You see – I figured the tests were going to be long and stressful for Brookie – not the way any seven year old should have to spend two days. So I planned a trip to the roller rink for a few of the girls from second grade that have really connected with Brookie this year. I figured, she deserved a Saturday spent JUST the way any seven year old would want…..surrounded by friends. (And a whole lot of smiles!)

Remember that smiles I mentioned……

The girls all took turns pushing Brookie around the rink….the faster they went the bigger the smiles!

All of the girls played the limbo

Even Brookie!!!!  (thanks Grammy!)

Some of Brookie’s super silly (and super awesome) friends

STILL smiling…..

Brookie is is generally in her chair during lunch with her friends – they were super excited to see Brookie sitting by her self (I helped her for part of the time) but let her sit there alone too!

As the girls were chatting I overheard them talking about the day and heard one of them say “this has been the bestest day ever”

Oh girls….you have NO idea!

*I am not sure who is smiling bigger – Brooklyn or me!?!? Seeing the smile on my daughter’s face – oh man…I agree…BESTEST day ever!

This was “The Best Day Ever”! Everyone had a lot of fun. I just love seeing Brooklyn grinning from ear to ear. Her friends are wonderful! It’s nice to see her being a regular kid enjoying skating with friends. Mothers, you have raised awesome girls! Now I just hope Grammy can get out of bed in the morning……I skated more that I probably should have!

So sweet, I remember how much I loved rollerskating as a kit. And what a perfect activity for Brooklyn to participate in. I can’t believe how grown up Brookie is looking, she’s turning into a little lady!
