Occupational Therapy – HopeBridge

Boston had an AMAZING OT session at Hopebridge today. We started the session by walking to the park for some time in the swings.
20130903-150722.jpgWe all know Boston LOVES  to swing!! What you might not know is when he swings – the sensory input he receives is amazing, and he works so much harder the remainder of the session after some swing time :)

20130903-150739.jpgHe rode in the wagon to and from the park – I wish I had more photos of this – he laid on his tummy, he got up in four point, he crouched, all sorts of great stuff, all in a MOVING wagon!
20130903-150746.jpgBoston did really well crawling through the tunnel.
ot3Although, halfway through, I think he was debating on staying in!
I have to say, I thought Liz was crazy when she said they were going to work with shaving cream, typically Boston FREAKS out when he gets his hands dirty, so you can imagine my surprise when he did so well playing today!20130903-150754.jpgIt took a little hand over hand by Liz but then he actually initiated some play!
20130903-150804.jpgHe also wore quite a bit of it too – but this was HUGE!
20130903-150810.jpgI did get some video – I will have to post that too.
20130903-150816.jpgAfter we got Boston (and Liz) cleaned up it was back to work. The ipad is typically a pretty good motivator for Boston and today was no exception, he worked so hard!
20130903-150826.jpglove this kid.
20130903-150834.jpgHe started getting a little tired, but still worked hard!
20130903-150843.jpguntil…..he just..
20130903-150908.jpgI look forward to all the progress in our future with the great staff at HopeBridge. OT started last week, Speech starts next – all while we wait to get everything figured out with insurance for ABA therapy.

I can’t wait to see how much he can do with his therapy! He is such a little trooper. And this is just the beginning…….going to be a wild and wonderful adventure!
